"Loneliness is the price we have to pay for being born in this modern age, so full of freedom, independence, and our own egotistical selves" (Sensei // page 30)
I feel like the quote is very realistic and it's Sensei saying some things that a lot of people don't want to be true. The effect of social media in the modern age is very prominent in this generation. The expectations and outcomes that pressure of social media pushes us to be like. There are so many people that put on a facade to show all the good things that happen in their lives but may not be necessarily real. People may act like they are surrounded and loved by many people but a lot of times they could be alone. There are a lot of people that fuel their egotistical characteristics by buying expensive clothes and bags, wearing lots of makeup and trying to look like celebrities or whatever would make them feel pretty or more boujee.
